Agenda

When What Where – August

WWW is a cultural agenda focused on art, music, lesser-known cultural venues, sustainability & self-development. With a soft spot for world-music and multicultural events.

This is a shortened version of “Who What Where”. Simply because I need a rest. I am working hard to pay bills that have been piling up and I was getting so stressed out with my estrangled agenda that I’ve decided to take a minimalistic approach to the cultural agenda this month. I hope to have time both to work hard and organize my blogging year – for me, the new year always starts in September, not in January.

Amsterdam almost has an excess of cultural offer, especially in the summer, so I’ve selected just a few events for the rest of the month. I hope this helps you out with the sea of options out there. This being said, if you need an extra suggestion for a specific day, you can always contact me via the comments down below or via e-mail. Juicy stuff, here we go.

When What Where – last days of July

WWW is a cultural agenda focused on art, music, lesser-known cultural venues, sustainability, community events & self-development. With a soft spot for world-music and multicultural events.

Dear friends,

One of the best-known feelings for bloggers like me – who don’t pay their rent from blogging – is guilt. Whenever you’re late with your blog posts or spend a long time in radio silence, you feel like a fraud. I really had to prioritize work that pays bills this past month though, hence this half-month cultural agenda. Better late than never, they say where I come from – I abide by that rule. Those of you who are subscribed to the newsletter have received some suggestions for July in their mailbox – the newsletter has priority over everything else – so if you’re one of those who don’t want to miss a thing, make sure to sign up for it.

So, what does the second half of July has to offer us? Find all about it out below.
Have a gorgeous summer y’all!

When What Where April

April prepares her green traffic light and the world thinks Go”.
Christopher Morley

Dear all,

Allow me to highlight three of the events I am SUPER looking forward to this month:

First of all, SHFT Happens, on Saturday 7! A one-day immersion where work feels like a retreat, where you get energy & nourishment from focusing and getting stuff done. Amsterdive partnered up with SHFT and we’re giving away discount codes – check all the info below.

Then, in the category of dancing as if there was no tomorrow, an evening of Lumberjacks in Hell at Noorderlicht, on Saturday 14, with the bright presence of DJs Mr Mendel, Marcel Vogel & Tom Noble!

Finally, in the category of culture, the concert “Symphonic Cinema: Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé’ a concert + film at Het Concertgebouw, courtesy of the Amsterdam Culture Club.

A cool thing? You can join me for all three of these programs – let me know if you do! And for now, enjoy the cultural agenda, and feel free to add any cultural suggestion of yours in the comments down below. 💫

When | What | Where November

Amsterdive’s cultural agenda WHEN | WHAT | WHERE was taken over by aliens!
(well, not, but almost)

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I’m delighted to present you a cultural agenda for November curated by a handful of my favorite fellow bloggers (and instabloggers)! Andra Stefan from Amsterdamming, Carole Rey from Good Enough Darling, Dana Marin from Amsterdamian, Dani Bordiniuc from Coffee & Stories, Deepa Paul from Instagrambloggers, and, last but certainly not the least, Jan Arsenovic from Jan in Amsterdam, all accepted my invitation to participate in the Blogger’s Edition of When | What | Where! 💥

It feels AMAZING to have these fine creatives onboard with me. You might know some of them already. They’ve been commitedely documenting and creating content about Amsterdam and The Netherlands by means of articles, photography, video, even books (!). So this is my present for you, guys (better said – our present). After all, Sinterklaas is just around the corner. Make sure to visit the blogs of these marvellous six and check out what they’ve been up to.

With no further ado, let’s take a look at what is getting this team excited for the upcoming month!

Between the lines of Chiharu Shiota

“Our life is like a journey but we cannot see the final destination” / Chiharu Shiota

I did feel I was searching for the line. You know? Those days in which your inner-world is blurry, and you feel slightly disoriented. Perfect occasion for heading to the museum.

Where The Sheep Sleep

Coming home

Every now and then I am walking around the city – wait, who am I kidding?, I never walk – I am cycling, cycling around the city -, and I get struck by this feeling that we are all so disconnected from each other. Which is ironical given the fact that we are also living crammed to each other and yet emotionally so far apart, always busy, never really paying attention to what’s happening around us. Then I can’t avoid my mind to wander to a place where it all was different, where connecting was the rule and not the exception. Where everyone smiled at each other, where people acknowledge each other’s presence, where interactions with other human beings were easy, simple, and free. This description might sound like a mere utopia to most of us. But the cool thing is that there are places like this in the world: not many, that’s true, but they exist.
