WWW (Who What Where) is a handpicked cultural agenda for Amsterdam. It bridges the variety of local and international artistic expressions present in the city. We focus on art, music, performance, community-driven events, small-scale venues and underground culture.
Leave a comment below if you remember Amsterdive’s cultural agendas! We’re back, this time around in seasonal format. Find below all the fine events that we’re excited to explore and go back to after (read in cavernous tone) *everything* thAt wEnt dOwn thE pAst twO yEArs. From museuming to theatre and clubbing, there’s a variety of activities to keep you amused.
Since the pandemic, some of us have gotten a taste of eremitism that may or may not have stuck around. Or maybe we’re just growing older (*coughs nervously*) in which case we still prefer small scale events, indie venues, and – generally speaking, – everything non-crowded, which given Amsterdam’s population density is a rare occurrence. Consider this cultural agenda a nudge to get outside the cave. What I love about this city’s cultural scene though is that it keeps reinventing itself, and you can always find something to your liking, you just need to look in the right places. Let’s go, we’ll take you.
Who What Where – Ongoing events
Every Monday, 20:30 | Cinemanita @ Nieuwe Anita
The classic movie night presented by Jeffrey Babcock, who always digs up the quirkiest movies for his cinema infants. You can go earlier – from 18:00 on – and swallow a three-course vegan dinner at Robbin Food next door too.
Every Tuesday, 20:30 | Small acustic acts: Witte Gei’t @ Nieuwe Anita
Your beginning of the week convivial next-door singer songwriter tunes. Nieuwe Anita’s space is all old-school artsy Amsterdam vibes (but you might have a better definition.)
Every Friday, 20:00 | Storytelling Night @ Mezrab | free entrance
Mezrab has become a second living room for many Amsterdammers in search of human connection. On Friday we gather around their Middle-Eastern carpet to hear all kinds of stories and tales with a steamy Iranian soup on the side. On Wednesdays they have open mics!
Every Friday & Saturday, 23:00 | Clubbing @ Pllek | free entrance
Pllek is an Amsterdam Noord cafe + restaurant ex-libris, with industrial looks and a creative ethos. Go for a scrumptious feel-good meal and wait until the tables get pulled to the side. You can also join in on the dancefloor after dinner and shake your limbs until 3 am.
Every Friday & Saturday, 21:00 | Clubbing @ Radio Radio, Westergasfabriek
Get your weekend dose of electronic music at Westerpark’s mischievous music crib Radio Radio, a collective that also streams their sounds online. If you want to get acquainted with local DJ talents, this is the place. From 17:30 to 20:30 they serve Tacos to keep you energized until late.
Every Sunday, from May 1 – September, 15:00 | Sunday Sounds @ Tolhuistuin’s garden
Sundays beg for an afternoon of live music in the outdoors. During the warm season, one the finest of Amsterdam’s music venues – the Tolhuistuin, – opens their garden to musical acts curated by local label Excelsior Records.
Every Sunday | Open Mic @ Labyrinth | free entrance
Grab the mic and do your thing: sing a song or tell a story at this international cafe where food warms the soul and cocktails are a must-try. Make sure to reserve a table in advance and register with the host at 3 pm if you’re performing (it work on a first come, first served basis.)
